"French & Fanciful" Provincial Tour

Day 1
Our 200 year old Provincial home, with its antique wooden door welcomed our 19 guests to the week ahead. this home is renowned for its ambience of relaxation, calm, joyful activities and decor of French linens and rustic charm. Canapes and champagne were savored on one of the private rooftop balconies whilst taking in the views of the Luberon valley. A welcome dinner of traditional French cuisine was cooked by our local French Chef and Author served under a wisteria covered pergola.
Day 4
After breakfast, we visited the quaint town of Lourmarin to walk its cobbled streets perusing its many shops and local attractions. We then drove to the ancient town of Gordes to devour lunch at another Michelin star restaurant Clover, the same restaurant where S3 of Emily in Paris was filmed. After our long lunch, we then visited the 'viewpoint' for must do photos of this township with its breathtaking views. Another delicious dinner was had back at home.
Day 7
Today was spent visiting Senanque Abbey, an ancient Cistercian Abbey in Vauclause with our own private guide. This landmark did indeed live up to expectations for both its historical, spiritual, cultural and popularity with its rows of lavender fields tended to by its monks. Lunch was had at a quaint French restaurant where we then visited the private home of two antique dealers. We had exclusive access to the sale of their wares as they were retiring. A farewell dinner with much festive fanfare was had celebrating the week of adventure experienced, new friendships formed, long lasting memories made and much reminiscent chatter.
Day 2
An early start after our buffet breakfast of sweet French delicacies, saw our guests head off bright and early by private transport to attend the first of one of our French brocantes at L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Many antique and vintage treasures were found here in this charming town. Lunch was enjoyed at a Michelin star restaurant and afterwards we resumed our shopping expeditions. Dinner was had back at our home cooked by our private chef for the week.
Day 5
We visited the atmospheric and charming medieval village of St Remy after breakfast to enjoy its market day and explore its historical attractions. A labyrinth of ancient streets and architectural gems from the 17th and 18th century ensures this is one village not to be missed. It is also here that Nostradamus was born. Lunch was had at a private hotel and winery. We then visited a pop-up exhibition of photographic artworks by popular Jamie Beck. Dinner was again enjoyed at home.
Day 8
After breakfast, it was time to take one last photo of 'our tribe of 19'. We left early to travel to Avignon, for a last minute brocante exploration then it was time to bid farewell to all. Oh, what an incredible adventure was had. Forever remembered for new friendships made, lifetime experiences shared and living our best life in Provence.
Day 3
After another delicious breakfast, we travelled to Roussillon, considered one of France's prettiest of villages with its ancient buildings bathed in pastel shades of pink, lemon and ochre. We walked on its popular tourist attraction the Ochre Trail taking in its geological significance and views of this beautiful township. Lunch was had at a local restaurant before we resumed our explorations in this pretty township including the many art galleries here. We then visited the atelier of artist Marie Bosse in Gordes before returning home for dinner.
Day 6
Today was an early start as we headed off to visit firstly Aix-de-Provence and then Avignon, home to the Palace of the Popes, one of the largest and oldest medieval Gothic buildings in Europe dating from AD 1252. Lunch was had at another Michelin star restaurant. This highly ornate and splendorous Renaissance built hotel did not disappoint for both its visual beauty and dining excellence. On our way home, we visited an antique emporium to peruse their wares. Dinner was once again enjoyed back at our Provincial homecooked by our private chef.
